Swot analysis of first draft

 

Strengths

The choice of location , being dimly lit alleyways contributes to the suspenseful, unsettling atmosphere, aligning well with thriller genre. The first draft has good pacing and and a variation of shot types.
 The video reflects thriller elements such as isolation, low lighting, and over the shoulder shots to emphasise emotional tension, making it recognisable within the genre.

Weaknesses

Lack of ability to control lighting affected some shots, where lighting varies from filming at different times. Limited equipment may led to la lower amout of variety in shot types and angles than what would have been psossible with more equipment, which may lead to an overall, less engaging story. With the short time frmae provided, being two minutes, it was hard to develop charactersleading to a lack of connection between the victims and the audience, making their deaths less impactful.

Opportunities

Editing tools allow for color grading, sound adjustments, and adding effects, which could enhance the eerie atmosphere or correct any lighting or audio issues. With the current footage as a foundation, additional scenes could be added or sequenced to flesh out the storyline, adding depth to the victims or antagonist and heightening suspense. Sharing the video on thriller could attract viewers interested in  provide valuable feedback.

Threats

The thriller genre has many films, so standing out might be challenging without a unique concept or memorable plot twist. If lighting issues are noticeable, viewers might find it harder to immerse themselves in the thriller experience, impacting overall reception. There are also a couple shots with pedestrians in the frame and those will need to be edited out to keep verisimilitude in the narrative .
